As technical experts for a number of technologies, we are owners engineer for a range of projects, providing both standard engineering checking and due diligence, but also a critical expert view on the intricacies of integrating emerging renewable energy technologies into projects in Australia.

At heart, we’re engineers, and we love to get stuck into the calculations, modelling, design, and validation. Our team are experienced, accredited engineers across multiple disciplines, from mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering disciplines, with experience across industry, predominantly in the market segments that we serve.

We work through the entire project cycle, from early concept development work through to detail design and handover to construction. Depending on the contracting model our client prefers, we work client side developing design up to Detail Design for construction, or work EPC side designing plant and equipment on behalf of the EPC. We have developed a comprehensive set of tools and knowledge base, especially in our key market segments, including advanced analytics and modelling, so we can help refine project scope very early on in the process to make sure no opportunities are missed!

We don’t just design, we help build and safely commission projects, on behalf of the principal or construction company, typically helping to manage quality issues, compliance, and as-built verification. We also support the commissioning of plant, from general engineering support to full commissioning management, leading the commissioning and development of documentation required to deliver and closeout the works.

Delivering and operating projects safely and in compliance with regulatory obligations is non-negotiable, but can be confusing, especially in our key markets, which are mostly emerging technologies, where the standards and regulatory environment is catching up with the state of the technology available. We closely support our clients, and more broadly across industry to ensure a robust approach to identifying and managing risks and obligations.

On-going operation of assets, optimisation and maintenance is crucial to safety and performance. We support our clients with development, updating or implementation of relevant Asset Management system artefacts, or provide these services directly, through data analysis and modelling of field data to provide critical insights on performance, optimisation and compliance obligations.

Often missed or delivered late, operational readiness is fundamental to ensuring safe transition from project delivery and commissioning over to operations. We have provided full Operational Readiness services to a number of projects, providing a suite of operational documents and artefacts, embedding the operational and maintenance requirements, procedure and systems into the end user systems of work.

In addition to standard industry 3D CAD packages and analysis software Amarna also has dedicated computer systems and software such as COMSOL to carry out advanced CFD and multi-physics analysis, such as characterisation of jet flames and impingement, to chemical reaction studies, airflow and dilution studies, allowing us to assess in detail normal operational and failure modes for actual designs, bridging the gap between OEM equipment design and as-built safety case, through QRA… blab la optimisation.
