Biofuels

Biofuels are already a proven concept, and in some cases, commercially proven at scale. They consist of organic energy carriers that can be used, mostly, in traditional technologies as a direct replacement for fossil fuels.

From biomethane to methanol, from SAF to eDiesel, the range of applications and options is as wide as it is promising.

Using the Waste Left Behind to Fuel Ahead

As with all fuels, an energy source is required, a key advantage of Biofuels is that many sources of Biofuels are waste streams from other industries or processes, supporting both decarbonisation and waste minimisation at the same time.

Conversely, the waste streams required for Biofuel production are local to the industry processes that create or handle them, making Biofuel production subject to geographical and production limitations.

Amarna supports clients identify the best technology and sizing for a given resource and location, helping through all the stages of Biofuel facilities development.

Direct Displacement of Fossil Fuels Without Additional Infrastructure

Our heavy dependence on fossil fuels for industry, transport and heating means that solutions that can replace existing Natural Gas, Diesel, Petrol and even Coal uses with minimal to no upgrades on transport and distribution networks, saving significant costs to end users sometimes associated with other renewables

Amarna has been supporting a major renewables developer since 2020, including a large scale power to liquids plant in Australia, this is in early stages of development, but will utilise Behind the Meter renewable power, coupled with grid to produce hydrogen, which in turn is converted into multiple different synthetic fuels to replace traditional fuels such as petrol, diesel and aviation fuel.
